Obituary of Jason Charles Hubbard

Jason Charles Hubbard died peacefully in his sleep on March 1st, 2024 at the age of 52. He is preceded in death by his Father Charles Hubbard. Jason was born in Pensacola, Florida on November 10th, 1971.

At the age of 18, Jason was the youngest licensed Water Well Drilling Contractor in the State of Florida. Starting out working deep underground he later transitioned into a Journeyman Lineman with the IBEW working high above ground. Nicknamed “Running man” Jason was known for his extreme work ethic, animated personality and endless hours of grueling work. Pat Silverthorn said, “Jason was always willing to help or give whether he knew someone his whole life or just a few hours. Linemen are family because we spend more time with each other than we do at home, through all our time working on the road there was one thing he always talked about and that was how much he loved and missed his family. He was proud of his kids and couldn’t wait to spend time with his new grandson Knox. He made us laugh even if he wasn’t trying to, recently out of nowhere he looked at me and said, “I think JW’s wife has a wooden leg”. Anyone that knows Jason will tell you these outlandish remarks are very common and constantly running through his mind.

Jason was one of the most kindhearted souls to anyone in need. In kindergarten his Mother Joan never got the change back from the money she gave him for lunch. He never said why until she figured out it was going to a child that didn’t have lunch money. For the rest of the year she paid for two people. Jason will be missed by many people from all over the United States and even more so by his Family. His shared qualities of unconditional love, strength and generosity extend beyond his immediate family and friends to encompass a wide network of loved ones in the IBEW.
