Obituary of Gerald Hightower

Gerald (Jerry) Hightower was born to Willie and Grace Wiggington Hightower on January 29, 1944 at Enloe Hospital. He entered into rest on December 8, 2023 after a short battle with Accute Myleod Leukemia. He is survived by his loving wife Cheryl (Evans) who he married on January 7, 1967, son Scott and daughter-in-law Jeny of Durham and their son Anthony. Sisters Allie (Tony) Miguel of Chico, Dorothy (Reginald) Keyawa of Orland and brother Phillip (Kathy) Hightower of Roseville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was proceeded in death by his brother Willie Dean (Elsie) in December of 2022.

He worked in farming with his dad, uncles, and brother Dean at the Stutz Ranch in Chico and Red Bluff. Later he worked in excavating and started his career at Butte County Public Works where he retired in 2004 after 37 years of service. After retiring he and Cheryl enjoyed traveling in their RV with the Chico Elks RV group until his health prevented him from traveling.
