Dear Laura,
I thought Burghardt sounded familiar. I enjoyed your writing in the Chico Enterprise-Record. Once I even called to compliment you on an article.
You encouraged us readers to write our obituary now instead of just putting it off forever. You wrote a lovely one for your mother. I never knew her, but I liked what you said about learning to be a homemaker after she was married, and her attitude about all the moves, every one of you born in a different state!
Life is short. Please consider Jesus, the Savior of the world. He died for our sins. He was buried. On the third day He rose from the dead. These three facts, His death for sins, His burial, and His resurrection out from among dead ones were all prophesied in the Old Testament of God's word, the Bible, hundreds of years before they happened. He is the Lord of all because He bought us all with something more precious than gold, with His blood. God's word, the Bible, is truth.
I hope to see you in heaven.
