Obituary of Carole Lee Maddock

Carole Lee Maddock, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on April 17th 2022 in her home. She was born on June 27, 1944 in Long Beach Ca., and she is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Jack Dorsey Maddock.  Carole and Jack have two daughters, Stacy Schimmel born on April 10, 1967 in Long Beach, Ca. and Julie Coulombe born on July 1, 1969 in Chico, Ca.. Carole and Jack moved to Chico from Long Beach in 1968.  Carole worked as a yard duty at Stacy and Julie’s elementary school and then as a medical transcriptionist for local doctors and at Chico State University.  Stacy and her husband Matt, and Julie and her husband Kevin, live here in Chico along with Carole’s 4 grand children Dylan, Haylee and Abby Schimmel and Kate Coulombe.  Carole loved reading and her annual shopping trips with her daughters.  Her other passion was her gardening and trying to master the best tomatoes and roses in her home garden.  Carole also loved spending time at their cabin in Prattville with her family watching fire works over the lake on 4th of July and especially loved family Thanksgivings trudging through the snow to find the “all elusive” perfect X-mas tree.  Her most cherished traditions were Christmas’s spent with entire family and pre-Christmas shopping and baking with her daughters.  The family will be having a private funeral at a later date.
