Obituary of Lillian Mae Coffeen

Lillian Mae Coffeen, age 89, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away on March 18, 2022 in Chico, Ca.

She was born February 24, 1933 in Lance Creek, Wyoming, moving to Oregon as a young girl. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Estella Nelson, her four sisters,Annette, Bonnie, Elaine and Charlotte. Her husband Jack Coffeen also preceded her death in 2003 and her son Dennis Coffeen in 2013.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-laws,Debra Wintermantel (Bud), DJ Lewis (Brad). Also survived by four grandchildren, Angelo Bonal, Alicia Boyd, Amanda Kegg and Jacklyn Todd. She also is survived by nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Lillian loved to do macramé and collect lladro.

She worked very hard her entire life, picking hops as a young girl, helping her parents to support the family. After graduating high school she worked in law offices for many many years eventually becoming a paralegal. Lillian’s husband Jack nicknamed her Sam and everyone would always ask her why. She would tell them that he had a favorite dog named Sam, so he called her that and everyone would laugh. Lillian will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
