Obituary of Harold Laughton Dawson

Harold L. Dawson passed away at home on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was 81.  A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for this spring.

Hal was born on July 10, 1940 in Inglewood, California.  He and his family moved to Chico in June of 1960. He married Suzanne Wing in 1962.  Hal owned and operated River Marina for 47 years.  His whole life he loved and collected various cars both domestic and foreign.  He was a master mechanic and body restoration was a passion as was his love of time spent on his boat.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne; daughter, Christa Dawson; son, Charlie (Amy) Dawson; grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Dawson, Jimmy Dawson, Lily and Tessa Ritchey and his great granddaughter, Bella Dawson.

Donations may be made in Hal’s memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation and Shriner’s Children’s Hospital.  Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
