Obituary of Virginia Lucille Mamich

Virginia Lucille Mamich “Granny” (91) was born 1930 in Trenton, Missouri to Charlie and Dorothy Simpson. She met her late husband Jackson Cleo Mamich in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1945. They married in Wells, Nevada in 1946 and moved to Le grand, Oregon where they began raising their family. She was blessed with five children, Darlene, Clinton, Wanda, Marilyn and Brenda. Lucille and Jack settled in Chico, California in 1953. She worked side by side with her husband creating ‘Jacks Fast Bail Bonds’. They owned and operated their business for over 30 years serving the Butte County and Northern California area.  To everyone she was known as Granny.  Lucille was active in her community, attended all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s school events and activities. She was always there for her family with love and laughter. She was fearless and never backed down from a task no matter how difficult it may have been. Her quirky wit could sometimes leave you speechless. She was an original. She loved Hawaii, flowers, birds, country music, singing around her house, dancing, being with her family and friends. She is survived by her sister Ethel Reader and brother Charlie Simpson, her children Darlene Myers, Clinton Mamich, Marilyn Fisher, Brenda Mamich, 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren for a total of 44 grandchildren. She will be greeted in Heaven by her late husband, her sister Rochelle, brothers Carl and Donnie, her daughter Wanda and grandson Ethan McAuliffe. We will miss her and carry her in our hearts with us forever. Aloha Granny.
