Obituary of Katherine Brock

A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Chuch, 208 W. 1st St. in Chico, for Katherine Brock, 85 of Butte Valley, who passed away on November 24, 2010. Kay was born in Fresno, CA to Lawrence and Lucia Koonce. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Will Guthridge on the Guthridge Ranch in Riverside County. Kay graduated from Perris High School in 1943 and Fullerton Community College in 1945. She volunteered her time supporting schools, youth groups, and her church. Kay is survived by her husband, Sam of 62 years, and her four children, James, Janet, Mary, and Bill; eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Kay loved to sew, hike, fish and travel with her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Enloe Hospice or to the American Lung Assn. in care of the funeral home.
