Obituary of Vernon Tracy

At his request, there will be no formal services for Vernon Tracy, 77 of Chico. Vernon passed away January 24, 2010 at his home with family at his side. He was born on March 18, 1932 in Hamilton City, CA to Harvey and Dorothy Tracy. On December 20, 1951, he married Lila Ragsdale. Vernon worked for Butte Creek Rock, later retiring from Baldwin Construction in 1984. Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a sister, Golda-May. He is survived by his wife, Lila Tracy; sisters, Betty Lou (Bill) Plott of Chico, and Twila (Jim) Neptune of Mt. Shasta, CA; brother, Robert (Iris) Tracy of Roseburg, Oregon; sons, Mike (Debbie) Tracy and Aaron Tracy, both of Chico; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Enloe Cancer Center.
