Obituary of Mary Lewis

A private graveside service will be held for Mary Helen "Rennie" Lewis, 95 of Chico. She passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 in Chico. Mary Helen was born September 3, 1913 to Sherman and Helen Reynolds in Chico. She was a graduate of Cal Berkeley and during WWII she was an English teacher at Chico High School. Mary Helen was a member of Chi Omega and Omega Nu. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, travel, cooking and fine wines. Her survivors include her niece, Carol (Bill) Johnson; great-nephew, Greg (Lisa) Johnson; great-niece, Anne (Jonathon) Evans; and close friend and caregiver, Wanda Brown. Mary Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lewis in 1962 and her brother, Ed Reynolds in 1994. Memorial contributions may be made to Enloe Hospice in care of the Brusie Funeral Home.
