Obituary of Maria Bazurto

A Rosary will be said followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009 at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church located at 566 East Lassen Ave. in Chico, for Maria Bazurto. Maria Ysabel Jimenez Bazurto was born in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico on December 29, 1919 and peacefully joined her Lord Jesus Christ on April 30, 2009 with her family at her side. Maria enjoyed maintaining her rose garden, yard and caring for her many animals, but most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of El Committe and served as Treasurer for various Hispanic Cultural Events in the past. Maria was preceded in death by her son, Henry, Jr. (Hank); daughter, Rosalinda (Hensley); and granddaughter, Stacie Binning. Maria is survived by her sons, William (Connie) and Robert (Susan) of Chico; and daughter, Marylou Binning (Dave) of Oroville. She is also survived by Henry Gerlach Bazurto, Sr. Maria has 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Her family would like to share their gratitude for the loving care their mother and family members received by the wonderful staff of Oroville Medical Hospital and Dr. Roy Shannon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Butte Humane Society or provide an act of kindness to someone in need.
