Obituary of Catherine Cresci

Catherine Elizabeth Cresci passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on December 12, 2008 in San Mateo, California. A 20-year resident of Chico, Catherine was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 11, 1915 to Angelo and Vita (Bessie) Antonucci. On April 30, 1937, she married John Cresci, also a native of New York. They owned several small businesses throughout their early years and in 1964 moved to San Jose, California where her husband John became a real estate broker. In 1979 John and Catherine moved to Chico. Catherine was a member of the Sons of Italy in Chico. Being an avid walker, Catherine enjoyed walking throughout Chico's renowned Bidwell Park. Catherine is survived by two sons, Charles of Elk Grove, California and Anthony of Kirkland, Washington; two daughters, Joan Brotzman of Gladstone, Missouri and Cathy Cresci of San Mateo, California; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Chico Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brusie Funeral Home.
